Profit & Loss (P&L)

Profit & Losses gives information about your portfolio's performance over a specific period so you can know how your investments are doing. It refers to the gain or loss of an investment over a certain period. It is calculated as the current value of a position minus its initial invested value. For an entire portfolio, it's the sum of the P&L of each position.

Tracking P&L allows investors to understand how well their investments are performing and can guide future investment decisions.

In GorilaCORE, we feature two endpoints for Profit & Losses value. One endpoint returns a historical series specific to a given portfolio, while the other provides a detailed breakdown by position. The latter endpoint also allows for comprehensive filtering by security, asset class, type, and date, granting users a tailored insight into their portfolio's performance.
